The national team of Ukraine in basketball with the third attempt has issued a starting victory at the European Championships – 88:81.
Defeat from Germany and Italy put the team of Evgeny Murzin on the edge of the abyss. “Blue-yellows” in the match with Georgia suited only the victory.
As in previous matches at Eurobasket-2017, Ukrainians won the first quarter, but this time they were able to avoid the traditional crisis in the second 10-minute. Moreover, before a long break the team, led by Denys Lukashov and Artem Pustovyi, organized a solid spurt, which allowed to complete the equator of the match with a 13-point advantage.
In the third quarter, Georgia tried to organize a come-back, but the Ukrainians, at the slightest risk, responded with their effective attacks and maintained a comfortable margin in the account.
The ending of the match was remembered by Georgia’s new attempt to save the match – an important middle shot by Pustovyi cold-blooded was reinforced by execution of penalty by Bobrov and Konev.
Artem Pustovyi scored in the match 19 points, made 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 block shots, Denys Lukashov – 17 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals.
