In the fifth round of the group stage of the Eurobasket the Ukrainian team managed to beat the Israeli team, thereby winning a ticket to the playoffs.
In the first quarter, Israel, already losing chances of seceding from the group, imposed a fight on the team of Evgeny Murzin, losing only 3 points. However, already from the second quater on the court dominated the national team of Ukraine and went on a big break, leading in the score – 46:28.
In the second half, the match did not change, which helped the Ukrainians draw a devastating victory – 88:64.
Roman Otverchenko scored 13 points in this meeting, Artem Pustovyi noted 8 points and 7 rebounds. Note that in the match against Lithuanians the center Artem Pustovyi scored 29 points and entered the top ten of the snipers of the Eurobasket 2017 (25-year-old center, gaining an average of 20 points for performance, ranked ninth in this list).
In the 1/8 finals the Ukrainian team will meet with the Slovenian national team.
