Coaching staff of the Russian national team announced 18 players to prepare for the European Basketball Championship. The tournament starts in Istanbul on September 1.
The head coach of the team Sergey Bazarevich summoned seven players to the team, among them Vladislav Trushkin (UNICS). The list also includes guards Vyacheslav Zaitsev (Khimki, Moscow region), Mikhail Kulagin (CSKA Moscow), Maxim Kolyushkin (without the club), forwards Vladimir Ivlev, Stanislav Ilnitsky (both Lokomotiv-Kuban, Krasnodar), center Anton Pushkov (Zenit, St. Petersburg).
Earlier, the team included forwards Semen Antonov (CSKA) and Sergey Karasev (Zenit), center Timofey Mozgov (Nets), as well as guards Yevgeny Baburin, Dmitry Khvostov (Lokomotiv-Kuban), Dmitry Kulagin, Vitaliy Fridzon (CSKA), Alexei Shved (Khimki), forwards Andrei Vorontsevich, Nikita Kurbanov (CSKA), Andrei Zubkov (Lokomotiv-Kuban).
The Russian national team will begin preparations for the tournament on July 24 in Novogorsk. Then the team will take part in international tournaments in St. Petersburg, Kazan and Hamburg.
