“Nizhny Novgorod” extended his contract with the young Russian center Ilya Popov up to the end of the season 2019-2020. The pupil of the St. Petersburg school basketball has come in Nizhny Novgorod in the summer of 2014 by signing an agreement before the season 2016-2017, and by the decision of the club management Ilya Popov will remain in the “Nizhny Novgorod” for another three years.
Ilya Popov is one of the youngest players of “Nizhny Novgorod” – in April 2017 he will turn 22 years old. His career started at the club in the Euroleague 2014-2015 season, after which he was loaned to the club “Spartak-Primorye” (Vladivostok) where he won the bronze medal of the Russian Cup and the silver medal of the Super League.
