“Astana” head coach Emil Rajkovic has been named the 2018-19 VTB United League Coach of the Year.
Under the 40-year-old Macedonian coach’s leadership, “Astana” enjoyed its best season in club history. The Kazakh club won a club-record 15 games (57.7% winning percentage), finishing 6th in the standings.
This was also the first time in League history that “Astana” finished the season with a positive +/- rating of 2.7.
The Kazakh club’s fairy-tale season included wins over UNICS (2nd place), “Lokomotiv-Kuban” (4th place) and “Zenit” (5th place).
