The Russian national team lost to Argentina in the final match of the preliminary stage of the 2019 World Cup. The Russians had a good first quater, having managed, despite the Argentineans’ starting spurt of six points, to be leaders. However, already in the second ten-minute the jump of the Argentines by 10 points brought them forward – the Russians left for a long break, yielding in the score with a difference of six points.
The third quarter also went to Argentina – both teams did not show effective basketball, but the Russians managed to score only 7 points against 14 from their opponents, so that by the final quarter the advantage of the Argentines was 13 points.
In the fourth quater, the Russians managed to regain their chances of success by gaining 11 points in three and a half minutes against zero for the Argentine national team, however, the lag of the Russians did not become less than two points even once throughout the final quarter. The final score of the game is 69:61 in favor of the Argentines.
