Forward Jamar Smith is appointed captain of the Kazan UNICS.

“The new team captain is Jamar Smith. Doesn’t it bother me that the choice fell on a foreigner? Our club has already had such a practice, and in other Russian clubs legionnaires are often chosen as captains. I don’t see a problem with that.
We are determined to compete with all the teams in the VTB United League and fight for medals. It is clear that the competitors have become much stronger, but we also did not sit idly by this summer. The line-up was not bad. Next week we are going to Moscow, where we will take part in the Gomelsky Cup. I think we can say what we are capable of in these matches,” said UNICS president Evgeny Bogachev.
